Tremors were felt in Swat and nearby regions on Monday, prompting residents to flee their homes and shops in panic. People ran towards open spaces as fear spread through the area.
The Seismological Centre recorded the earthquake at a magnitude of 4.4, with a depth of 47 kilometres beneath the surface. The epicentre was identified in the mountainous area of Mingora city.
Initial reports indicated no casualties or damage to property.
