The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has made pre-analysis of MDCAT 2025 papers mandatory, directing all universities to ensure that no questions fall outside the approved syllabus.
The move aims to improve transparency, consistency, and quality in the upcoming Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT), scheduled for October 26.
PMDC makes pre-analysis of papers compulsory
According to the PMDC announcement, universities must conduct a prior analysis of MDCAT papers to identify and remove questions outside the syllabus before the final examination. The council emphasised that this step will help maintain fairness and accuracy in evaluating candidates’ performance.
The PMDC has provided the complete examination policy and paper structure to all participating universities. These universities are responsible for preparing, administering, and marking the exam under the council’s prescribed standards.
MDCAT 2025 details and exam centres
This year’s MDCAT exam will be held on October 26, with 140,125 candidates registered across Pakistan and abroad.
The PMDC confirmed that there will be 35 examination centers nationwide, while an international center will be established in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to facilitate overseas Pakistani students.
Importantly, the exam will be conducted by universities, while the PMDC will serve as the regulatory authority, ensuring compliance with all examination protocols.
Strict standards for universities
Universities have been instructed to strictly adhere to PMDC’s standards for paper setting, development, and printing. The council also stressed the importance of confidentiality, directing universities to maintain strict secrecy of question papers at every stage of preparation.
Candidates will receive their admit cards seven days before the exam, ensuring adequate time for verification and preparation.
Result announcement timeline
The PMDC has also set a clear timeline for result announcements. Universities are required to officially declare the MDCAT 2025 results within seven days after the examination.
The council stated that this standardized process will enhance efficiency, transparency, and accountability across all testing institutions.
