India secured a dominant 88-run win over Pakistan in the sixth match of the ICC Women’s World Cup at the R. Premadasa Stadium.
Batting first, India posted a total of 247 all out in their allotted 50 overs. Pratika Rawal opened with a steady 31 off 37 deliveries, while Harleen Deol contributed 46 runs. Jemimah Rodrigues added 32, with valuable lower-order runs coming from Richa Ghosh, who remained unbeaten on 35 from just 20 balls.
Diana Baig was the pick of Pakistan’s bowlers, claiming 4 for 69 from her 10 overs.
In reply, Pakistan were bowled out for 159 in 43 overs. Sidra Amin resisted with a composed 81, but lacked support as wickets fell at regular intervals. Kranti Goud led India’s bowling attack with figures of 3 for 20, while Deepti Sharma picked up three scalps and Sneh Rana took two wickets apiece.
Kranti Goud was named Player of the Match for her economical and incisive spell.
