A notification has been issued confirming the appointment of Moeen-ud-Din Riaz Qureshi as Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly.
The notification was issued by Acting Speaker Malik Zaheer Iqbal Chanar. Moeen-ud-Din Riaz Qureshi is a member of the Assembly from constituency PP-215, Multan.
Meanwhile, Hafiz Farhat Abbas has been appointed as the deputy opposition leader.
This development followed the disqualification of former Opposition Leader Ahmed Khan Bachhar, who lost eligibility for the post following his conviction in the May 9 case.
