Heavy rains and widespread flooding have impacted construction activities across Pakistan, leading to a drop in cement prices.
A 50-kilogram sack of cement now costs Rs1,412 on average, Rs36 less than last year, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
A year ago, the average price of a 50kg bag of cement was Rs1,448. In some cities, a bag of cement was being sold for up to Rs1,510, according to the statistics bureau.

Why cement prices dropped
The reduction in cement prices is mainly due to delays in construction projects caused by recent heavy rains and floods. Reduced demand during this period has forced sellers to lower prices to stay competitive.
