Majority of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) have voiced support for the return of Sher Afzal Marwat to the party, during a key consultative session held at Parliament House.
Sources divulged on Friday that senior members including Barrister Gohar, Shehryar Afridi, Asad Qaiser and Dr Nisar Jatt endorsed Marwat’s reinstatement, while recommending that he refrain from public criticism of party leadership. Members stressed that a conducive environment should be created before forwarding a formal recommendation to the party founder.
Sher Afzal Marwat has expressed his willingness to rejoin PTI. Speaking to Samaa TV, he said he could not tolerate personal criticism but, now that he had returned, he would exercise caution in future. “I am grateful to those members who wish to see me back in the party,” he said.
Dr Azeemuddin Zahid Lakhvi said that the majority of PTI members preferred Sher Afzal Marwat to remain within the party ranks.
