Former Balochistan governor and senior political figure Lt Gen (retd) Abdul Qadir Baloch has formally resigned from the primary membership of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), bringing an end to his active political career.
In an exclusive interview with Samaa TV, the veteran politician and retired military officer announced that he is stepping away from all political affiliations and activities due to personal reasons, health concerns, and advancing age.
"I have decided to completely withdraw from party politics," said Abdul Qadir Baloch. "This decision was not made lightly. My age, health, and personal obligations no longer allow me to participate actively in the political arena."
While announcing his exit from public life, he expressed heartfelt gratitude to his supporters and colleagues who stood by him throughout his extensive political journey. "I thank everyone who supported me during this long and meaningful chapter of my life," he said.
Despite retiring from politics, Lt Gen (retd) Baloch affirmed his continued commitment to Pakistan, saying he will "serve the country in a private capacity."
He also offered a message of encouragement to his former party colleagues, urging them to carry forward the mission of public service through political engagement within the PPP.
Lt Gen (retd) Abdul Qadir Baloch has held several important positions over the years, including governor of Balochistan, federal minister for states and frontier regions (SAFRON), and MNA. His political journey included affiliations with both the PML-N and later, the PPP.
