Pakistan’s right-arm fast bowler Haris Rauf is likely to miss the upcoming series against the West Indies as he begins rehabilitation for a hamstring injury at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore.
According to sources within the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Rauf will commence his rehabilitation process at the NCA from Monday. His participation in the West Indies tour remains uncertain and is contingent upon clearance from the PCB’s medical panel.
“Haris Rauf will undergo a structured rehab programme under the supervision of the medical team,” a source said, adding that a final decision on his inclusion in the squad for the Caribbean series will be made following a thorough medical assessment.
The 30-year-old pacer sustained the injury while participating in the recently concluded Major League Cricket (MLC) in the United States. He had been representing the San Francisco Unicorns in the T20 franchise league.
The Pakistan-West Indies series, set to be played in August, is considered an important part of Pakistan’s preparation ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup scheduled for early next year.
