Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz's son, Junaid Safdar, was reportedly issued a traffic challan by a warden in Johar Town, Lahore, for violating traffic rules, according to traffic police sources.
The violation in question was related to the tinted windows on his car, which go against the regulations enforced by Punjab’s traffic police. Officials said the challan was issued during a routine check.
“No one is above the law. The challan was issued according to standard procedure,” a source within the traffic police told reporters.
The Punjab chief minister commended the Dolphin Police for issuing a traffic challan to her son, Junaid Safdar, and the security vehicle accompanying him, for violating traffic laws.
“You have upheld the rule of law. I appreciate the Dolphin Police team for ensuring legal compliance,” said CM Maryam.
She added that the rule of law is the hallmark of her government, and stressed the importance of equal enforcement across the province. “I want to see the uniform application and protection of the law throughout Punjab,” the chief minister said.
