Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan on Monday expressed optimism regarding the possible release of party founder Imran Khan before Eidul Adha.
Speaking to reporters in the federal capital, Barrister Gohar said it was natural for party workers to raise questions about the prolonged incarceration of the former prime minister.
“We value the emotions and commitment of our workers. However, I urge them to remain calm and trust the process. We are doing everything in our power and we place our hope in Allah Almighty,” he said.
The PTI chairman acknowledged that party workers had grown weary after nearly two years of what he called "unjust imprisonment" of the party’s founder. “No one can understand the pain of why Imran Khan has had to spend two years in jail. We have protested, staged sit-ins, and raised our voice in parliament — this struggle is ongoing,” he added.
Barrister Gohar reiterated that Imran Khan, who has been behind bars since 2023 in a series of legal cases, remains spiritually resolute. “He worships Allah, and in every difficulty, he seeks help from Allah. We believe He will create a path for justice,” he remarked.
He further stated that the party is actively pushing for court hearings and verdicts to be delivered on merit. “Our legal teams are pursuing the cases rigorously. The goal is not only release, but also vindication,” he maintained.
When asked about internal pressure within the party, Barrister Gohar acknowledged that many PTI workers and supporters were growing increasingly frustrated, but called for continued patience and discipline.
“Our people have endured a lot over the past two years. But the focus must remain on lawful struggle,” he added.
