Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Gen Asim Munir chaired the 270th Corps Commanders’ Conference at General Headquarters on Thursday, reaffirming Pakistan’s resolve to decisively counter all threats to its national security, especially those emanating from Indian-backed terrorist proxies.
The high-level military meeting began with prayers for the martyrs of Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos and the victims of the recent terrorist attack in Khuzdar, Balochistan, where four children and two adults lost their lives.
In a strongly worded statement, the military forum condemned the barbaric and deliberate targeting of non-combatants, particularly children, calling it a reprehensible violation of humanitarian norms and international conduct.
The forum also paid tribute to the martyrs of Marka-e-Haq, who sacrificed their lives during India’s unprovoked aggression. “The sacred blood of our martyrs will not go in vain. The safety and security of the people of Pakistan remain the armed forces’ foremost priority,” the statement said.
The corps commanders extended congratulations to the army chief on his conferment as field marshal, lauding his strategic foresight and exceptional leadership.
Victory in Operation Bunyanum Marsoos
A comprehensive internal and external security review was conducted, focusing particularly on the successful conclusion of Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos. The commanders praised the professionalism, synergy, courage, and resilience of Pakistan’s armed forces and the unwavering support of the nation, crediting them for repelling Indian aggression with precision and resolve.
They also acknowledged the critical role played by the media and information warriors in countering Indian propaganda, fake news, and war hysteria along with the state. They also emphasized that their efforts in portraying facts and figures helped maintain public trust and counter misinformation.
Youth, political leadership applauded
The forum praised the spirit and dynamic contributions of the Pakistani youth, noting their vital role in projecting the national narrative. It also saluted the political leadership for their foresight and navigating the country through the conflict with clarity, conviction, and resolve.
“History will remember Pakistan’s swift and resolute defensive posture that neutralized a grave threat within hours of its emergence,” the forum noted, adding that the country responded with strategic restraint and operational clarity and upheld both its deterrence and moral authority.
'No one can coerce Pakistan'
Reiterating its strategic stance, the corps commanders declared: “No one can coerce Pakistan through the use or threat of force. The nation will take all measures necessary to safeguard its vital interests.”
The conference conducted an in-depth review of threats posed by India-backed terrorist proxies operating in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, noting that India — a so-called and self-proclaimed victim of terrorism — is in fact the epicentre of regional instability and actually a perpetrator of terrorism.
"[India] has upscaled the use of covert means, employing non-state actors to pursue its destabilization agenda," the participants noted.
Vow to crush terrorism
The forum vowed that Pakistan would never allow its peace to be compromised by externally sponsored terrorism. All proxies and facilitators of terrorism would be pursued with unrelenting resolve by the armed forces, in collaboration with intelligence and law enforcement agencies, the military declared. They warned that hostile elements trained and financed to spread chaos and fear will be dismantled and decimated with full force.
Focus on Kashmir and regional peace
The conference also undertook a strategic overview of the regional environment, discussing the security posture along the Line of Control (LoC), Working Boundary, and the Eastern Border. It expressed concern over ongoing human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir that it claimed contributed to organic backlash and perpetuated cycles of violence.
The forum urged the international community to intervene before the peace situation worsens in South Asia. It reiterated Pakistan’s full diplomatic, political, moral, and humanitarian support for Kashmiris in their just struggle for the right to self-determination.
Field Marshal’s closing remarks
In his concluding remarks, Field Marshal Asim Munir commended the high morale, operational readiness, and professionalism of all ranks, as well as the nation's support. He also directed all commanders to maintain a heightened state of vigilance and preparedness to address evolving threats across the spectrum.
The field marshal emphasized the army’s role in ensuring internal stability and defending the country’s borders, while thanking the people of Pakistan for their enduring support.
“The people of Pakistan are our greatest strength. We remain committed to their trust and expectations in our shared struggle against any foreign aggression, terrorism and extremism," he said.
The conference concluded with the army chief expressing full confidence in the operational capability, preparedness and unwavering morale of all formations to defend the nation at all costs.
