The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has announced that there is currently no risk of a heat wave in Karachi, despite forecasting high temperatures for the city today.
According to the latest weather forecast, Karachi will experience intense heat today with the actual temperature reaching 36°C, while the "feels like" temperature will exceed 40°C. The department stated that the weather will remain hot and humid during daylight hours.
The morning temperature was recorded at 30°C with winds blowing from the southwest at 7 kilometers per hour. The humidity level in the air stands at 78%, adding to the discomfort despite relatively moderate actual temperatures.
Weather officials confirmed that sea breezes have been restored to the city, which is helping to mitigate the risk of a heat wave in the provincial capital. The return of sea breezes means that despite the uncomfortable conditions, Karachi is not currently facing a heat wave threat, according to PMD.
