An emotional reunion took place at the Kartarpur Corridor in Narowal's Shakargarh district, as two brothers, separated for 78 years due to the Partition of India and Pakistan, finally met again.
The heartwarming moment unfolded when a resident of Sheikhupura, Pakistan, reunited with his younger brother, who had been living in Ludhiana, India, since 1947.
The long-lost siblings connected through social media, which led to their long-awaited first meeting in decades at the sacred Kartarpur Sahib. The historic corridor, which allows visa-free travel for Sikh pilgrims and facilitates cross-border family reunions, became the site of an emotional gathering where hugs, tears, and heartfelt conversations were exchanged.
Both brothers were accompanied by their families, including women and men from both sides of the border. Witnesses described the meeting as deeply moving, with emotions running high as the two embraced after nearly eight decades of separation.
