The Frontier Corps (South) Balochistan has demonstrated significant commitment to community healthcare by extending substantial financial support to the Kech Thalassemia Center, a critical medical facility serving patients in the region.
Operating independently since 2019, the Kech Thalassemia Center has become a lifeline for 450 registered patients battling this challenging genetic blood disorder. The center's monthly operational costs approximately reach 40 million Pakistani rupees, presenting a considerable financial challenge for sustained healthcare delivery.
The Frontier Corps Balochistan (South) has provided crucial financial assistance. The unit contributed 10 million rupees directly, with an additional 28 million rupees donated by the Corps Commander, specifically earmarked for purchasing modern electro-medical equipment.
During a recent visit, IGFC representatives personally engaged with patients and their families, gaining firsthand insights into the center's operational dynamics and the critical healthcare needs of thalassemia patients in the Kech district.
The center's self-sustaining model since 2019 demonstrates remarkable resilience and community-driven healthcare approach. The recent financial injection from the Frontier Corps will likely strengthen its capacity to serve patients more effectively.
