Karachi Commissioner has issued a new price list for flour, chicken, and eggs.
The implementation of these new rates in the markets remains questionable. Despite the official rates, the market prices are significantly higher.
The new list includes, mill flour is available at Rs115 per kg, fine flour is available at Rs100 per kg, eggs are available at Rs240 per dozen chicken meat is available at Rs550 per kg
Reality check
However, in reality, mill flour is being sold at Rs120 per kg, fine flour is available at Rs120 per kg while eggs at Rs260 per dozen, and chicken meat is priced between Rs560 to Rs600 per kg.
Buyers reactions
Buyers expressed their frustration, noting that the announcement of new prices has not resulted in any reduction in costs.
“The announcement is great, but nothing came cheap," remarked one dissatisfied shopper.
