PML-N Senator Irfan Siddiqui has revealed plans for a series of constitutional amendments once the coalition government, led by his party, comes into power.
In a special conversation with Samaa TV, Senator Siddiqui outlined key changes, including the abolition of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and caretaker governments through constitutional amendments.
Senator Siddiqui emphasized the importance of protecting the local government system and restoring articles 62 and 63 to their original form. He indicated that these amendments are part of the coalition government's agenda to address pressing issues within the constitutional framework.
Furthermore, Senator Siddiqui highlighted the immediate priority of seeking assistance from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as the first step upon assuming power. This move suggests the government's commitment to addressing economic challenges and stabilizing the country's financial situation.
Expressing optimism, Senator Siddiqui also spoke about his expectations from President Asif Ali Zardari, stating that the PPP leader could play a crucial role in ending political polarization. His remarks reflect the coalition government's intent to foster cooperation and unity among political stakeholders for the betterment of the country.
