Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar accused on Tuesday the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of pursuing a politics of 'violence' and making armed protests a regular practice.
Speaking about the firing incident on Mall Road in Rawalpindi, Tarar said a PTI worker had fired at a security official in broad daylight. He added that a PTI flag and other documents were recovered from the worker.
‘PTI does not believe in peaceful protests’
Tarar maintained that the PTI did not believe in peaceful protests and that none of its protests had remained peaceful. He said the party’s aims and intentions had been seen by the whole nation.

The minister said the Rawalpindi incident had brought several matters before the world. He claimed that every PTI protest had hidden motives and that the party wanted to create unrest and destroy law and order in the country.
Tarar also linked the PTI’s announcement of a long march with the conclusion of the Makkah joint defence agreement. He said Pakistan’s progress was not acceptable to the PTI.
He expressed confidence that Pakistan would continue to progress and that the country would prevail on every front, while its enemies would face failure.
