Veteran spinner Sunil Narine took three wickets for seven runs as Trinbago Knight Riders beat St Kitts and Nevis Patriots by eight wickets in a rain-hit Caribbean Premier League match at the Arnos Vale Ground in Kingstown, St Vincent, on Saturday.
The Knight Riders, led by Akeal Hosein for the first time, restricted the Patriots to 109 for nine from 20 overs after choosing to field first.
Narine and Hosein bowled during the powerplay and helped reduce the Patriots to 24 for three in the opening six overs.
Narine removed Andre Fletcher, Kyle Mayers and Alick Athanaze, while Jyd Goolie dismissed Johnson Charles for 21.
Kevin Wickham top-scored for the Patriots with 38 from 44 balls, while Ashmead Nedd made 18 and Obed McCoy remained unbeaten on 13.
Dominic Drakes took two wickets for 20 runs, while Terrance Hinds also claimed three wickets, although he conceded 33 runs.
The rain interrupted the Patriots' innings at 55 for six after 11.4 overs, but play resumed and they reached 109 for nine at the end of their 20 overs.
The rain then reduced the Knight Riders' target to 76 runs from 15 overs.
Colin Munro made 17 before Waqar Salamkheil dismissed him, while Alex Hales scored nine before falling to Jason Holder.
Joshua Da Silva made 18 before retiring hurt, and Matthew Breetzke remained unbeaten on 35 from 35 balls.
The Knight Riders reached 94 for two in 15 overs, with Breetzke and Goolie unbeaten on 35 and two respectively.
Narine was named player of the match for his outstanding bowling performance.
