Tourists stranded in the Neelum Valley following a landslide have been rescued, after around 30 vehicles were trapped in Sheikh Bela Neelum during rainfall.
According to details surfaced on Sunday, the rescue teams, police and local administration shifted the tourists to a safe location overnight. Intermittent rain continues, while landslides have blocked the upper Neelum Highway at several points in Muzaffarabad.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has forecast heavy rainfall across most parts of the country over the next 12 to 24 hours, with snowfall also likely in mountainous areas.
Snowfall is expected in the upper regions of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). Slippery roads caused by rain may disrupt traffic flow, and travellers, particularly on hilly routes, have been advised to exercise strict caution.
