The West Indies and South Africa cricket teams will depart on commercial flights, with their complete repatriation expected within 36 hours.
According to a statement issued by the International Cricket Council (ICC), delays in players returning home after the World Cup were caused by heightened tensions in the Middle East. These tensions severely disrupted global air travel and led to flight cancellations.
The ICC confirmed that the full return of both teams will be completed within 36 hours. The council is maintaining continuous contact with airlines, airports, and government authorities. The South African squad is scheduled to depart for home tonight. The safety of players and their families remains the top priority.
