Following an uneventful 2025, Apple is gearing up for a transformative 2026. From a foldable iPhone to touchscreen Macs and leadership transitions, the tech giant looks ready to redefine its product lineup and corporate strategy.
At 65, Apple CEO Tim Cook is expected to begin transitioning into a more advisory role, potentially moving toward the chairmanship of Apple’s board. This strategic shift will allow a new CEO to step in while Cook continues guiding the company, focusing on international relations and trade.
Several long-term executives are also expected to step aside or shift roles, making way for newer faces who have quietly been part of Apple for years. Within five years, Apple is projected to be largely managed by leaders who were not part of the Steve Jobs era.
The Mac
Rumors suggest the M6 MacBook Pro could introduce Apple’s first touchscreen Mac, expected either in fall 2026 or early 2027. While macOS may not see major interface changes, touch functionality is likely aimed at quick interactions rather than detailed work.
The Mac Pro may face discontinuation or a major redesign, as the Mac Studio currently dominates Apple’s high-end market. Meanwhile, Apple may also release its lowest-priced MacBook yet, powered by an iPhone-level chip, potentially priced between $599–$699, opening new markets for the company.
iPhone innovations
The Foldable iPhone
Apple’s first folding phone, potentially named iPhone 18 Fold, is expected to debut in 2026, with a starting price around $1,999. While it may sell less than standard iPhone Pro models, it is likely to become the best-selling foldable iPhone ever.
Standard iPhone Lineup and AI Features
The standard iPhone 18 models may be delayed until 2027, while 2026 will see the iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max, and Fold launch in September. Apple also plans improvements in Siri and Apple Intelligence, enhancing smart home integration and AI functionality throughout its ecosystem.
Apple is expected to continue refining Liquid Glass, offering better usability and flexibility while addressing previous design concerns. Overall, 2026 will mark a year of innovation across multiple product lines and software features.
