DIG (Operations) Faisal Kamran has issued comprehensive directives to strengthen security across Lahore, ordering strict checking at all entry and exit points and enhanced deployment around public and sensitive locations.
The move comes amid heightened safety concerns, with the police force instructed to remain fully alert throughout the city.
DIG Kamran said security personnel must conduct careful inspection of vehicles and individuals entering and leaving Lahore.
He emphasized that field officers must perform their duties while ensuring their own safety, urging them to maintain vigilance during all checks.
Checkpoints have been instructed to maintain uninterrupted monitoring throughout the day and night.
Additional security for sensitive places
The DIG ordered an increase in security presence around sensitive installations, public spaces, and busy markets. He also instructed the deployment of additional personnel to strengthen overall city surveillance.
To reinforce visibility and deter threats, he directed police to ramp up regular patrolling and mobile patrols in all major areas.
Specialized units, including Dolphin Force, PRU, and others, have been instructed to stay on high alert and intensify their patrols.
Each unit has been advised to respond swiftly to any suspicious movement or activity.
The DIG also directed all SPs, SDPOs, and SHOs to remain present in the field, ensuring real-time supervision of security operations.
Appeal to citizens for cooperation
DIG Faisal Kamran appealed to Lahore residents to immediately report any suspicious activity to the police. He said public cooperation is essential for maintaining peace and preventing potential threats.
Authorities affirmed that these measures aim to create a safer environment for both residents and visitors, especially in high-traffic zones.
