Prime minister’s adviser Rana Sanaullah said on Thursday that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan is in Adiala jail, his health is sound and he is safe and well.
Expressing his thoughts on Samaa TV programme "Nadeem Malik Live", he said the law allows a prisoner to meet lawyers and family, but no law allows a prisoner to run a movement against the government or the state. He said no law allows any prisoner to call for arson or agitation and that any restriction on meetings with the PTI founder must have been imposed by the jail authorities.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) stalwart said that jail officials must have reported that such conversations take place. He added that he does not know who imposed restrictions on meetings with PTI founder Imran Khan. He said the PTI founder has ruined politics, brought hatred and foul language, and that politics had never been in such a state before. He said the PTI founder adopted an attitude no one else adopted.
He said Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) held a Palestine march in Islamabad and permission was granted, while another religious political party wanted to enter Islamabad and was stopped.
Sanaullah said Shehbaz Sharif invited dialogue and a 'Misaq-e-Istehkam' for Pakistan. He said PTI has been invited for talks and that once all sides sit together an environment will form. He said PTI should sit for talks and start with a meeting with its founder. He said the Prime Minister told the House that he is ready for talks on all issues. He reiterated that the PTI founder is in Adiala Jail, his health is sound and he receives all facilities in jail and is safe and well.
He said that on 26 November they did nothing. He said last year on 26 November PTI was invited to proceed to Sangjani. He asked whether he should not defend himself if a person comes to his house with a gun. He asked whether law‑enforcement agencies should remain inactive if someone attacks Islamabad.
He maintained if someone fires at law‑enforcement personnel, no one showers flowers in response. He said the PTI workers had ample weapons on 26 November during the protest. He said that if someone fires at law‑enforcement personnel, they do not respond with flowers. He said if Mehmood Achakzai sits with the government, PTI will remove him.
