The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) said on Friday that the weekly inflation in the country has increased by 0.53%.
According to details surfaced, the annual inflation reached 4.15%. Meanwhile, the prices of the 15 essential items increased, while the price of 12 of the items decreased.
The price of live broiler chicken increased by 20%, while, the price of the tomato surged by 12%. The prices of cooking oil, potato, banana, mutton, dal masoor, LPG increased.
Meanwhile, the prices of onions, dal chana, salt, gur, flour, dal maash and dal moong reduced. On the other side, the sugar prices rose by up to 40% on an annual basis, while flour prices increased by 18.7%. Ghee became 11% more expensive, and the price of cooking oil rose by more than eight per cent. Gas prices increased by 30% over the same period.
