The Punjab government has abolished the Punjab Regularisation of Service Act 2018.
Under the new policy, departmental recruitments will be made on a lump-sum pay package instead of the basic pay scale.
According to the decision, employees appointed on contract will not be entitled to a pension even after their services are regularised. The move aims to reduce the financial burden on the provincial treasury caused by pension liabilities.
Recruitments and regularisations already carried out under the 2018 Act will remain valid and unaffected by the new changes.
