Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated the leadership and people of Cambodia and Thailand on the signing of the Kuala Lumpur Peace Accord, calling it a “historic day for peace and diplomacy.”
He also commended US President Donald Trump for his continued efforts to promote peace in Gaza, South Asia, and beyond.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the peace agreement between Cambodia and Thailand marks another milestone in regional diplomacy and cooperation.
He extended heartfelt congratulations to both nations for achieving a breakthrough that will strengthen peace and stability in Southeast Asia.

Shehbaz praises Trump’s global peace role
Prime Minister Shehbaz also praised US President Donald Trump for his “instrumental role” in advancing peace through multiple global initiatives, including the Kuala Lumpur Accord and the Gaza Peace Plan.
He said President Trump’s “resolute efforts for peace and stability in the Middle East and South Asia” had contributed to saving millions of lives around the world.
Tribute to Malaysian PM
In his message, Shehbaz Sharif also commended Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, referring to him as his “brother” and acknowledging his “tireless pursuit of peace and harmony in the region.”
He said Malaysia’s leadership in facilitating the peace accord between Cambodia and Thailand reflects its growing role in promoting dialogue and stability in Asia.
