Pakistan on Wednesday strongly condemned Israel’s violations of the Gaza peace agreement, expressing deep concern over the renewed Israeli attacks that have killed numerous innocent civilians in the besieged territory.
In a statement, the Foreign Office spokesperson said that Israel’s recent actions are in clear violation of the spirit of the peace accord, signed at Sharm el-Sheikh, which aimed to uphold a ceasefire and promote lasting regional stability.
Violation of Sharm el-Sheikh agreement
The spokesperson said Pakistan was “deeply concerned over Israel’s blatant breach” of the Sharm el-Sheikh peace agreement, emphasizing that such acts undermine efforts to achieve peace in the region.
“These actions are against the spirit and intent of the agreement, which sought to end hostilities and protect civilian lives,” the spokesperson added.
Call for international action
Urging the international community to intervene, Pakistan called for “immediate and effective measures” to stop Israeli aggression and ensure the protection of Palestinian civilians.
The spokesperson stressed that the ceasefire must be fully implemented, and all parties should respect the peace framework established to prevent further escalation.
Unwavering solidarity with Palestine
Reaffirming Pakistan’s consistent stance on the Palestinian cause, the spokesperson reiterated the country’s unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people in their struggle for self-determination and justice.
“Pakistan stands firmly with its Palestinian brothers and sisters and will continue to support their legitimate right to freedom and sovereignty,” the statement said.
The Foreign Office further underscored Pakistan’s long-held position that a free, independent, and sovereign State of Palestine should be established based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem) as its capital.
“Only a just and lasting solution, in accordance with international law and relevant UN resolutions, can bring true peace to the Middle East,” the spokesperson added.
Pakistan’s commitment to peace and justice
Pakistan reiterated that peace in the Middle East cannot be achieved through the continued violation of international agreements or the collective punishment of civilians.
The statement concluded with a renewed call for the world to uphold justice, ensure accountability for violations, and work towards the realization of an independent Palestinian state.
