Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan hosted Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister Marat Nurtelo, Minister of Transport, and Deputy Trade Minister in Islamabad, discussing enhanced bilateral trade, transportation, and communication cooperation between the two countries.
Abdul Aleem Khan stressed that Pakistan aims to increase trade with Central Asia and Europe through enhanced rail and road connectivity. “Trade will increase through improved transport links, and both countries can benefit from mutual experiences in the communications sector,” he said during the meeting.
The minister highlighted that establishing efficient trade corridors and excellent communication infrastructure remains a priority for Pakistan. He also welcomed the Kazakhstan delegation’s visit, underlining the importance of long-term strategic cooperation.
Delegation discussions and cooperation
The Kazakh delegation, including Deputy Prime Minister Marat Nurtelo, Minister of Transport, Deputy Trade Minister Nurlan Soranbayev, Arman Sheklov, and the Kazakh ambassador, engaged with Pakistan’s federal ministers, including Rana Tanvir Hussain (Food Security) and Hanif Abbasi (Railways).
Topics discussed included joint projects in transport and communications, strengthening trade links, and potential collaboration in infrastructure development. Abdul Aleem Khan emphasized that both nations could achieve significant gains through coordinated efforts in transportation and communication sectors.
Deputy Prime Minister Marat Nurtelo expressed goodwill towards the Pakistani people and highlighted Kazakhstan’s commitment to deepening relations. The delegation also expressed sympathy over recent floods in Pakistan, reflecting the brotherly ties between the two Islamic countries.
