Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar arrived on Monday in Saudi Arabia to attend the 21st extraordinary meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), being held at the OIC Secretariat in Jeddah.
Dar was received at King Abdulaziz International Airport by Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the OIC Fawad Sher, Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmed Farooq, and Consul General in Jeddah Khalid Majeed.
Agenda of OIC meeting
According to the Foreign Office, the extraordinary session will deliberate on the ongoing Israeli aggression, including the plan for full military control over Gaza and the widespread human rights violations committed against Palestinians.

The meeting aims to adopt a joint action plan among OIC member states to address the crisis and call for urgent humanitarian assistance for the people of Gaza.

Pakistan’s stance on Palestine
Pakistan has consistently advocated for the rights of the Palestinian people at international forums. At the Jeddah meeting, Ishaq Dar will:

Reiterate Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause

Demand Israel’s withdrawal from all occupied territories, including Jerusalem

Call for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with pre-1967 borders

Emphasize the urgent need for humanitarian relief for Gaza’s civilians
During his visit, Dar is also expected to hold bilateral talks with foreign ministers of key OIC member states to strengthen consensus on Palestine and discuss broader regional cooperation.
