Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has directed authorities to ensure the immediate restoration of roads in the affected regions following severe rainfall in the northern areas.
The National Highway Authority (NHA) has been instructed to carry out urgent measures for reopening blocked routes and removing landslides. Teams have been deployed to Skardu, Jaglot, and adjoining areas to manage the situation.
Aleem Khan visited the affected sites along with the NHA Chairman and senior officers, calling for swift improvement in conditions on the ground. He expressed grief over the reported loss of lives in Buner due to recent weather conditions.

Terming the latest monsoon wave as highly troubling, the minister stressed the need to maintain traffic flow through alternative routes wherever roads remain closed. He further emphasised the use of all available resources by the NHA to restore mobility and assist travellers.
He also directed the submission of an immediate report on restoration efforts in Gilgit-Baltistan and called for round-the-clock coordination to ensure effective relief operations.
The minister urged that citizens be kept informed and rescue operations be made fully functional. "All possible assistance must be extended to stranded passengers during this difficult time," he said.
