The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to move all financial operations of the Local Government Department to a digital platform, issuing implementation directives to all Tehsil Municipal Officers (TMOs).
According to a circular issued by the Local Council Board to all local government bodies, including the Peshawar mayor, revenue collection in the Metropolitan Corporation, tehsils and TMAs will now be conducted through an e-challan and cashless system.
Under the decision, all financial transactions will be carried out exclusively via the e-challan platform.
Furthermore, the collection of various fees, market rents, penalties and other dues by local bodies in cash will be discontinued.
TMAs have also been instructed to launch an awareness campaign regarding the e-challan and cashless system.
