Australian wicket-keeper batter Ben McDermott has joined the Guyana Amazon Warriors for the forthcoming edition of the Carribean Premier League (CPL).
According to details surfaced on Wednesday, the Warriors have picked up McDermott as the replacement for New Zealand all-rounder Glenn Phillips, who was facing injury.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the CPL management have welcomed the 30-year-old wicketkeeper, who plays for Hobart Hurricanes in the Big Bash League (BBL). "The Australian wicket-keeper batter joins the Guyana Amazon Warriors as a replacement for the injured Glenn Phillips," said an official statement.

The 13th edition of the CPL is slated to begin from August 14. The final is scheduled to take place at the Providence Stadium in Jamaica on September 21.
It is pertinent to note that Faf du Plesis-led Saint Lucia Kings had clinched their first title in 2024.
