The federal government has announced a significant increase in the prices of petrol and diesel, effective from June 16 (Monday) for the next fortnight.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Finance, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs4.80 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel has gone up by Rs7.95 per litre.
The new price of high-speed diesel has been set at Rs262.59, while petrol will now cost Rs258.43 following the latest increase.

The Ministry of Finance has formally released the notification regarding the revised prices of petroleum products.

On May 31, the federal government had increased the price of petrol by Rs1 per litre.
According to details, the petrol price had been fixed at Rs253.63 per litre.
