The first trailer for Godzilla Minus Zero has been released, offering fans a glimpse of humanity's desperate attempt to stop the legendary monster using a nuclear weapon.
The upcoming Japanese blockbuster serves as the sequel to the Oscar-winning Godzilla Minus One and is set to hit cinemas in November.
The newly released trailer showcases Godzilla unleashing widespread devastation as military forces struggle to contain the giant kaiju.
Facing overwhelming odds, humanity appears to resort to a nuclear bomb in a final attempt to stop the monster before it destroys everything in its path.
Alongside the trailer, filmmakers also unveiled a new official poster featuring the towering creature against a backdrop of destruction.
According to the official synopsis, Godzilla Minus Zero is set in 1949, two years after the events of Godzilla Minus One.
The story follows the Shikishima family, who once again find themselves confronting a devastating new threat as Godzilla returns.
Director and writer Takashi Yamazaki, who helmed the previous film, returns to lead the sequel.
Cast returns
Several cast members from Godzilla Minus One reprise their roles, including:
- Ryunosuke Kamiki
- Minami Hamabe
Kamiki portrays former kamikaze pilot Koichi Shikishima, while Hamabe returns as his wife.
