Islamabad Police have finalised a security plan for the 2026-27 federal budget session.
Sources divulged on Friday that the employees and media personnel will be permitted to use Serena Chowk and Margalla Road during the budget proceedings.
All entry points to the Red Zone, apart from Serena Chowk and Margalla Road, will remain closed, sources said. No unauthorised person will be allowed to enter the Red Zone during the budget session.
Additional police personnel will be deployed at Parliament House and across the Red Zone, sources added. A total of 2,000 police officers and officials will be assigned to security duties during the session.
Monitoring through the Safe City surveillance system in the Red Zone will also be increased, according to sources.
Police will additionally use vehicles equipped with modern cameras as part of the security arrangements.
