Pakistan women’s team mentor Wahab Riaz has said the side will play fearless and positive cricket at the Women’s T20 World Cup.
Speaking ahead of the tournament, Wahab said the team remained confident that hard work and thorough preparation would produce favourable results.
He said playing in a World Cup was the dream of every cricketer and added that the players were fully focused on making a strong impression at the event.
Wahab noted that the group included some of the strongest teams in the tournament, making every match important.
He said a good start to the competition would be crucial for Pakistan’s campaign.
The mentor termed a place in the semi-finals as a realistic target for the national women’s team.
Wahab said the squad had adapted well to conditions in England and was ready for the challenges ahead.
He added that the series against Ireland and the warm-up matches had played an important part in the team’s preparations.
