Electricity consumers across Pakistan have received relief as the power tariff has been reduced by Rs1.99 per unit under the quarterly adjustment mechanism.
A notification has been issued confirming that the reduction will apply across the country, including to K-Electric consumers.
According to the notification, electricity has been reduced by Rs1.99 per unit in the quarterly adjustment for January to March. The relief has been approved for consumers nationwide and will help reduce electricity bills during the coming months.
Relief to remain applicable for three months
The reduction will remain applicable for three months, from June to August 2026. Consumers will receive the benefit of the quarterly adjustment during this period through lower electricity charges.
The notification stated that the quarterly adjustment will also apply to K-Electric consumers. This means electricity users in Karachi and other areas served by K-Electric will also benefit from the Rs1.99 per unit reduction.
Overall, electricity consumers are expected to receive relief worth Rs67.17 billion through the quarterly adjustment. The tariff reduction comes as a welcome development for households and businesses facing high power costs.
