Senior Iranian officials issued coordinated statements on Thursday stressing national unity and rejecting internal political divisions, as tensions persist across the region following renewed violence involving Israel and Iranian-backed groups.
President Masoud Pezeshkian said in a post on social media platform X that there were no distinctions between “hardliners” and “moderates” in Iran, describing all Iranians as “revolutionary” and calling for unity between the state and the nation under the authority of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei.
“With ironclad unity of nation and state and obedience to the Supreme Leader, we will make the aggressor regret,” he wrote.
Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi echoed the message, saying Iran’s institutions were acting with “unity, purpose and discipline,” and portraying military and diplomatic efforts as “fully coordinated fronts in the same war.”
He said Iranians were “all united, more than ever before,” framing recent developments as evidence that Israel’s actions had failed to weaken Iran internally.
Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf used similar language in a separate post, also rejecting factional labels and vowing that Iran would respond collectively to what he described as external aggression, again emphasizing loyalty to the Supreme Leader.
The remarks appeared to underscore a unified posture from Iran’s political leadership amid heightened regional tensions, including fighting along Israel’s northern borders and continued diplomatic efforts by the United States to contain escalation in Lebanon.
