The Ministry of Information has dismissed Afghanistan’s claim of shooting down a Pakistani aircraft.
Afghanistan had asserted that a Pakistani plane was downed and its pilot captured in Nangarhar.
The ministry stated that false reports from Afghan agencies were amplified by Indian media and Afghan propaganda platforms. Pakistan’s armed forces reported no loss of any aircraft.
No independent international media outlet or defence monitoring agency has verified the claim.
The fabricated report relies solely on statements from Afghan authorities and promotion by selected media.
Images and videos circulating on social media are outdated and unrelated. The videos in question actually depict an unrelated emergency in Afghanistan. A photograph of the wrecked aircraft broadcast by TOLOnews originates from a 2021 Russian plane crash in Turkiye. No visual evidence, wreckage, crash site, or images of a captured pilot has emerged.
