The Punjab government has approved a performance allowance for teachers serving in primary, elementary, high, and higher secondary schools. The allowance will range from Rs5,000 to Rs12,500, depending on the teacher’s level and performance.
Officials said the initiative is designed to reward good performance and encourage higher teaching standards.
Allowance amounts by school level

Teachers at the higher secondary level will be given the highest allowance of Rs12,500.
Education dept's stance
