The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday announced its 15-member T20 International and 16-member ODI squads for the upcoming white-ball series against South Africa and Sri Lanka.
Former captain Babar Azam has made a comeback to the T20 team, while Salman Ali Agha and Shaheen Shah Afridi will lead the national sides in T20 and ODI formats respectively.
Babar Azam returns
Former skipper Babar Azam has been recalled to the T20 International squad as part of Pakistan’s renewed strategy ahead of the home white-ball season. The announcement also includes exciting first-time selections and the return of several familiar names.
Young pacer Usman Tariq has received his maiden call-up to the T20 International squad, while Abdul Samad and Naseem Shah have also made their return.
Key additions in ODI squad
In the One-Day International squad, Faisal Akram, Haris Rauf, and Hasibullah have been included. Fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi will captain the ODI side, continuing his leadership role from previous series.
The combination reflects Pakistan’s effort to balance experience with emerging talent, ensuring depth in both batting and bowling departments for the upcoming fixtures.
