The Islamabad government has decided to introduce a new business visa policy aimed at facilitating foreign investors and entrepreneurs, including Afghan citizens already engaged in trade activities in Pakistan.
According to sources in the Ministry of Interior, the decision comes as part of broader efforts to promote business-friendly policies and regulate cross-border economic activity through a transparent visa framework.
Multiple-entry visas for foreign businesspersons
Under the new policy, business visas will be issued to individuals conducting business in Pakistan, allowing them to legally invest, trade, or establish commercial operations.
Interior Ministry officials confirmed that the policy will include the issuance of multiple-entry visas, making it easier for businesspeople to travel in and out of Pakistan without bureaucratic hurdles.
“Business visas will be granted to those actively doing business in Pakistan, and multiple-entry options will be available,” said a ministry source familiar with the proposal.
Afghan citizens to benefit under new policy
A significant aspect of the new policy is the inclusion of Afghan citizens who are already running or planning to start businesses in Pakistan.
Under the revised framework, Afghan nationals will be able to obtain official business visas to conduct their trade activities legally. Those already operating businesses in Pakistan will be eligible for a new visa issuance under the updated system.
“Afghan citizens doing business in Pakistan will now be able to continue their activities under the new business visa,” Interior Ministry sources added.
