Eight-year-old Taimoor Waseem Khatri from Pakistan won the Under-8 category of the World Youth Scrabble Championship held in Malaysia.
A total of 216 players from 16 countries took part in the championship, which featured participants from across the globe in various age brackets.
The young champion’s victory in the word-based game brought pride to Pakistan, with his success described by his father as a moment of national honour.
Residents of the area expressed joy, saying that Taimoor had brought recognition to the country through his achievement.
