Police have arrested Umair Rashid, the father of an abused minor girl, and handed the child over to the Rawalpindi Child Protection Bureau.
According to police, a case has been registered at Dhamaial Police Station against a couple for allegedly torturing and injuring their young daughter in Mir Haider Colony. The FIR states that police received information via the 15 emergency helpline about the abuse, injuries to the child, and a quarrel between the parents.
The report further says that when neighbors questioned Umair Rashid over the alleged abuse, he became angry, locked his house, and left with his wife and children. Neighbors later heard the girl screaming and knocking on the door, prompting police to reach the scene.
Upon entering the house with the help of neighbors, police recovered the injured girl from a locked room. The suspects have been booked under charges of illegal confinement and physical abuse of a child.
