The Punjab Local Government Department has developed a mobile application that allows citizens to obtain vital documents -- such as birth, death, and marriage certificates -- without visiting government offices.
According to officials, the app is designed to simplify the process of acquiring these certificates, enabling users to submit applications and pay fees online from the comfort of their homes. Once the application is processed, the certificate will be delivered directly to the applicant’s doorstep.
The initiative aims to eliminate long queues, reduce processing delays, and curb the need for physical visits to government offices, which often involve multiple rounds and red tape.
The Local Government Department confirmed that the application will be formally launched in the coming days.
“This is an important step toward easing public access to essential services,” said an official from the department. “Our goal is to make citizen services more efficient, transparent, and accessible through digital solutions.”
