The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has officially released the schedule for the Asia Cup 2025, confirming that arch-rivals Pakistan and India will face off on September 14 in the group stage.
The Asia Cup will kick off on September 9 with the opening match between Afghanistan and Hong Kong. Pakistan will launch their campaign on September 12 with a match against Oman, followed by the high-voltage clash with India two days later.

Pakistan’s final group-stage match will be played against the UAE on September 17.

Group stage line-up
The eight participating teams have been divided into two groups:
-
Group A: Pakistan, India, Oman, UAE
-
Group B: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong
As per the format, the top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super Four round, which is scheduled to take place between September 20 and September 26. The Asia Cup 2025 final will be held on September 28.

This will be for the third time that the Asia Cup will be held in the T20I format.
Earlier in the day, sources suggested that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had received clearance from the Indian Ministry of External Affairs to face arch-rivals Pakistan.
Asian Cricket Council President Mohsin Naqvi confirmed that the Asia Cup cricket tournament would take place from September 9 to 28, with all matches scheduled to be held in the UAE. “I am looking forward to organizing a memorable Asia Cup,” Naqvi said.
The Asia Cup will feature a Super Four format after the initial group stage. Eight teams are set to participate, including India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, the UAE, Oman, and Hong Kong.
