The Islamabad Capital Police has issued a comprehensive social media policy for all federal police officers and personnel, imposing strict restrictions on their online activity.
According to the notification issued by the inspector general (IG) Islamabad Police, officers and officials are prohibited from sharing statements, or opinions on social media without prior permission from the department. The policy also bans the use of official uniforms in videos or photos for personal promotion purposes.

Key directives outlined in the policy include:
-
Strict prohibition on uploading any confidential or official documents on social platforms.

Complete ban on expressing political or religious views by police personnel online.
-
Only the Public Relations Branch is authorized to publicize police activities on social media.
-
Officers must formally seek permission before uploading any departmental videos or content.
