Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has strongly condemned India’s alleged involvement in acts of terrorism within Pakistan, calling it a deliberate strategy to destabilize the region, particularly Balochistan.
In an exclusive interview with Al Jazeera TV, the military spokesperson said India has adopted state-sponsored terrorism as a tool of foreign policy, actively supporting and funding militant operations inside Pakistan. These nefarious intentions of India were a systematic conspiracy to destabilize the country's security, especially Balochistan, he stressed.
The ISPR chief's remarks come in the wake of last month's deadly suicide bombing in North Waziristan, which claimed the lives of 16 army personnel and left more than 20 others injured. The banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the attack.
The news channel reports Pakistan's clear position that India was directly involved in these attacks. India is supporting and financing terrorist activities in Pakistan, it reported Pakistan's claims.
The term "Khawarij", the DG ISPR explained, had been widely used in the Pakistan Army and media recently for armed groups that attack the state and the army.
“Fitna al-Khawarij is a continuation of this extremist mindset that kills innocent Muslims in the name of religion,” he said, adding that such groups have no connection with Islam, humanity, or Pakistani values. The ISPR DG said the authority to wage jihad rests solely with the state and not with any individual, organization, or group.
“Those who act against this principle are enemies of the state and Islam alike,” he asserted.
The military spokesperson also said the term "Fitna al-Hindustan" referred to India-backed terror groups, stating that these outfits are particularly active in Balochistan, where they aim to disrupt peace and development. He accused Indian intelligence agencies, particularly Ajit Doval, of orchestrating cross-border terrorism and cited previous statements by Indian leaders admitting to such tactics.
He further noted that India's role in state terrorism has been acknowledged by international actors, including the United States and Canada, where investigations have revealed Indian involvement in transnational assassination plots.
Commenting on regional stability, the DG ISPR said that Pakistan views any aggression against the Islamic world, including recent Israeli hostilities towards Iran, as a threat to regional peace, reiterating Pakistan’s support for Iran in the face of such aggression.
Touching on national security, General Chaudhry reaffirmed that Pakistan’s nuclear program is fully secure and invincible. “No one can dare to target our nuclear assets,” he said, emphasizing that Pakistan is a responsible, declared nuclear power and confident in its defensive capabilities and regional deterrence posture.
