In a welcome move for overseas Pakistanis, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has announced a 120-day tax-free mobile registration facility for Pakistani citizens visiting from abroad.
According to the PTA, this new initiative is aimed at ensuring uninterrupted mobile connectivity during the short stays of overseas Pakistanis in the country.
The registration process will be completely free of cost and automated, eliminating the need for manual submissions or visits to offices.
Key features of facility:
-
120 days of tax-free mobile phone usage for each visit.
-
Automatic and free temporary registration system, requiring no manual process.
-
Available every time an overseas Pakistani visits the country.
-
Designed to facilitate connectivity without the burden of immediate taxation.
The PTA stated that the Temporary Registration System has been implemented to make short-term mobile usage more convenient and hassle-free for overseas Pakistanis, who often face challenges in getting their devices registered with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) upon arrival.
