Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has once again won attention across borders after responding candidly to a Pakistani fan who invited him to visit Lahore during a recent Instagram live session.
The 42-year-old star, known for blending modern sounds with Punjabi music, said politics between India and Pakistan makes such a visit complicated.
During a live Instagram session a few days ago, Diljit updated fans about his Europe tour when a fan asked the Amar Singh Chamkila actor to come to Lahore.
Reacting politely, the Haye Juliet hitmaker said, “No brother, if I come to Lahore, they won’t let me go anywhere else. You know what’s going on in the world. It’s all about politics bro.”

His response quickly circulated on social media, where many fans praised him for speaking honestly.
Diljit says he stays away from politics
Later in the session, the Good Newwz actor said he avoids politics because it requires “very thick skin.”
“I always stay away from politics, always keep my face away from it,” Diljit said.
He added that politics is a difficult profession and not something he feels he can handle.
Pakistani fans react with support
Many social media users in Pakistan reacted warmly to Diljit’s comments and said they understood his position. One user called him “so genuine,” while another wrote, “We still love you Diljit.” A third fan added, “Respect for him.”
Diljit has long enjoyed a strong following in Pakistan, where his songs and films have attracted millions of fans.
Earlier, Diljit sparked controversy in India for casting Pakistani actress Hania Aamir as the female lead in Sardaar Ji 3 during a tense period between the two countries.
The film was released for Pakistani audiences, but it did not get a theatrical release in India.
Diljit defended the project and refused to step back from his commitments, saying in a BBC Asian Network interview that tensions were not the same when the film began and that he would not let matters beyond his control affect the team’s work.
Diljit’s bond with Pakistani audience
Over the years, Diljit has maintained a warm relationship with his Pakistani fans.
At a recent international concert, he gracefully accepted a gift from Pakistani fans, further strengthening his cross-border bond with audiences. Fans in Pakistan have repeatedly expressed their wish to see him perform in the country.
Diljit was recently seen in Imtiaz Ali’s Main Vaapas Aaunga, alongside Vedang Raina and Sharvari. The film explores Partition through the eyes of a man who experienced it in his youth, with much of the story set in Sargodha, now part of Pakistan.
